Delays in releases
State declined to file on #seattleprotests, but did so after they were already set for felony hearings, so ppl missed the deadline to appear @ SMC calendar, & held 2 days longer. Bail Fund got ppl out last night. Misdemeanor hearings are 8/20 at 9 am in KCJ 2. We will be there.

#seattleprotests arrested late Sunday. They were booked in wee hours of morn Mon so didn't get a bail hearing until Tuesday at 230, bc missed Mon cutoff. Then the State, on late Mon/ Tues, decided to strike. Tht left the choice up to CAO. Now the city gets a chance. #defundspd

Remember: they never should've been arrested. KCPAO & CAO know SPD is lying & charges won't be filed but they continue this game. Arbitrary process means ppl r jailed longer. This is how the system works to abuse & stifle 1A. It's not just cops. #seattleprotests #defundspd

UPDATE: the City (predictably) is declining to file on the 5 ppl arrested 8/16. Hearings are stricken tmr morning. This is the notice clients get. How much longer will SPD be allowed to terrorize? Why is @SeaCityAttorney entertaining this? #seattleprotests #defundspd #BLM pic.twitter.com/vyVO6MNwKt
